Respect week rolls on! 12 of us gathered in the gloom. BTW, 5:15 isn’t any cooler than 5:30. I mumbled some sort of greeting and we left the parking lot to cross the road to another parking lot. We paired up and did flying warmups. We mucked about with that for a bit and when everyone was good and warmed up we left *that* paring lot and headed for “the hill”. We stopped at the corner, (on the way to the hill) for “Indian run dips”. …that lake is pretty wide at that end. Just sayin’. Regardless we made it across the lake to the bottom of the hill and the first light pole. Perhaps I took inspiration from @banjo’s FWD queue. Maybe I’m just stupid. Regardless, Thang 1 was this.
1 Merkin – run to the next light pole and do 2 merkins. Run back, 1 Merkin. Run up the hill to the third lite pole, stopping at the second for 2 merkins. At the third lite pole, do 3 merkins. Run back doing merkins on the way down. At the fourth light pole, do 4 merkins but only run two light poles back down the hill. It this fashion, we worked our way up the hill. (like many things, it was easier to simply do than explain)
Once we got to the parking lot, we partnered up and half did peoples chair while the other half ran a bit and came back – then flip flop. Then we did the same thing with balls to the wall which became horrible dirkins. A quick round of 50 LBC’s (breathing is important) and we did it again. Then someone reminded me we ended at 6 not 6:15 so we moseyed back to the flag. A quick 50 more LBC’s and we were finished. I *am* disappointed we didn’t get in any sprints but there is always next time.
Thank you for the opportunity to lead. Everyone told me they were surprised at the mileage. Your welcome…I suppose.
