4 HIMs conquered The AMBRR half marathon.
3 on foot, and LDB on bike (which is no small feat for a 13-yr-old, but he rode it like a champ).
Texas Ranger, always up for a challenge, gave those 13.1 miles a swift roundhouse kick to the face as he completed his 2nd ever half marathon in style.
YHC managed to come in just under my goal of 2 hours, squeaking in a barely sub 9 min pace for my longest run to date.
And let me tell you about Badda….this dude just joined F3 about a month ago, never ran more than 8 miles before, but decided to give it a go anyway. At the end he said “I would have never done it if it wasn’t for this group, but I’m glad I did.” And that pretty much sums up what F3 is all about.
The paramedics pulled up in an ambulance literally right next to us during COT, and as we all checked our phones to see who accidentally pocket-dialed, they assured us they were only there for the bagels. Requests for oxygen were denied.
Prayers for Texas Ranger’s family and his mom as she is nearing her final days with us. Prayers for all our brothers in the mountains who have made us proud. Gratitude for our mental strength and physical health that allows us to do crazy things in the gloom, gratitude for this group of men as we challenge ourselves, support each other, and inspire the people around us.
