A group of 17 Pax consisting of 12 kids and 5 questionable adults had a great time at Ritter this morning. Started with talking about F3 creating leaders and went over what the 3 F’s stand for. Then Armstrong led us in the pledge followed by a few fast loops around the parking lot island. Q-drenaline was high.
Armstrong led us in warmups through various exercises including SSH’s where the Pax showed some impressive cadence counting skills. Warmups continued with Armstrong leading sets of squats, merkins, and sit ups, and YHC led some various stretches.
Thang 1 was a relay race between 3 teams where team members did SSH’s while waiting for the runners to return.
We then headed to the playground where the dads got a bit of a workout performing sets of merkins with the kids sitting on their backs. Then the kids tried to lift the dads’ arms and legs, and we also discovered how many kids it takes to lift YHC completely off the ground. The dads helped the kids do some pull-ups before a quick water/Gatorade break.
The second half consisted of various soccer drills where every kid got a chance to score goals and then some kids elected to play a scrimmage while others preferred to play a little catch me if you can with some dads. A deer came to say hello at close range.
After an extended COT where we named 5 FNG’s, we prayed and expressed gratitude and some kids shared things they were grateful for. Then Snip handed out packs of Pokémon cards which were a huge hit. Rocket Torpedo remembered what the 3 F’s stood for and won an F3 sticker. Thankful for this group and the time we share together. MIAGD.
