It was dark and cold when the clock struck 0630 for my 3 year anniversary Q. After the pledge 4 runners peeled off and the remaining 12 looped around the top of the parking lot and then circled up by the tennis courts for 52 cadence count side straddle hops, some arm circles, and good mornings. We partnered up and then we got to reminiscing about the past 3 years.
Year 1: The start of the pandemic
– we were in lockdown and trying not to catch Covid, so: Catch me if you can (prisoner run + 5 hand release merkins) to the docks
– for part of 2020, I didn’t do squat, so we did a bunch of squats. Then we did a bunch of jump squats.
Year 2: I posted a bunch but didn’t seem to make much progress
– partner 1 ran to middle of bridge and back, partner 2 bear crawled 2 fence-posts then planked, then flip flop until everyone made it to the middle, switched to lunge walk/AMRAP squats for the second half of the bridge
Year 3: I started running more
– calf stretch, runners stretch, half pigeon then speed intervals back to the flag (20 ish second mosey then 20ish second sprint, repeated until we got back to flag
100 LBCs then Have a Nice Day
Announcements: NYE convergence at LnL with refreshments and whatnot + buy the leftover holiday booze
Ended with a moment of quiet reflection.
