Cool weather was enjoyed, rain was successfully avoided. We started with a mosey and warm up and then everyone selected a rock for thang 1. This turned out to be a Dora-for-one. The goal was 100 overhead presses, 200 bent over rows, and 300 squats, with a break every 60-90 seconds to run a lap. Rather than counting there was rampant speculation about the twerking ability of one of the PAX. An unknown number of exercises were completed, and the speculation will have to continue as we never learned the truth. We then moseyed over to the parking lot for some modified 7’s, aka 17’s. 6 Merkins at one end of the lot, counting down. 11 LBC’s at the other end of the lot, counting up. The use of a non-standard number caused some initial confusion, but we all adjusted to something that wasn’t 7 or 11. Then a quick round of Mary to finish up.
Memorial Day Murph on Monday, details can be found in Slack. There were two good reminders this morning:
* Take some time this weekend to think about the meaning of Memorial Day.
* Check in with guys who haven’t shown up in a while. You may be just the nudge they need.
We closed with some thoughts about forgiveness. There are times in life where someones actions negatively impact our lives, sometimes in serious ways. In those moments I have found it useful to keep in mind that I do not know that persons circumstances or what they are dealing with. That doesn’t excuse the actions, but helps me keep the perspective that I am not in a position to truly judge them. This helps me more quickly get on the path to forgiveness.
A sincere thank you to everyone who shared this morning with me. MIAGD! And stay dry everyone!
