What’s Up Scary!

A very pleasant morning it was over in the land of up lighted $2M+ houses, pineapples and doggy treat vending machines (WTF).

21 gathered for the ME and I was thrilled with the group of men who decided to join me at JIU this am. A solid group of guys I wish I saw more often (gotta get over to Scary more often).

Started with a 1 mike pre run with Amway, Astro, Chipper, Kitty Litter and Home Grown. EHarmony was out on a ruck.

Standard Warm Up.

Mosey to the Big House Neighborhood for Mr T. We found some hills along with our inside voice (even Yogi and me) and worked the T along with a POS.

We all (we almost all) did 5 burpees every time the words What’s Up were said. I think we did about 40 extras.

Back to the park for a flawless Motivator.

Wrapped up with a set of 140s. Joe Smiff was confused. I really miss both Joe’s and JP’s voices. Smooth.

I’m trying to fully recall JIU this am. Likely the most memorable was the realization of where the extra Picnic beans went….directly to TinkerToy. Today we experienced a random and unpleasant atmosphere around him. Apologies did not save us. Although this @Bubbles character remained an enigma, Tink revealed that he may be, in fact, the true bubble maker in the bunch. The drop for each burpee was like falling through low lying blanket of campfire smoke or fog one can see in a pastoral valley on a winter’s day. But a minute is a minute and we were not allowed to leave until the exercise was finished. Because that’s how we roll. Beyond that it’s a good thing I showed up to save that Q slot from this bubbles guy. A hearty EMOM took us over hill and dale, 20 exercises mixed in and we MIAGM despite the shenanigans. Pushing the PAX. Master brewing site Q gave us coffee that was on point.

A few did a variety of ECs and subsequently 8 gathered at the flag to jumpstart the morning.

Mosey, a quick warmup and then to the one and only thang: BBB-LLL-III-MMM-PPP-SSS while hitting every single cul-de-sac in the Birklands neighborhood.

Minimum 5K was covered and a lot of sweat equity was spent. Great group of guys as always and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Good times at JIU this morning! We traveled into the Valley with some warm-up along the way. The PAX were confused about the Q’s counting of 4’s and 9’s. Eventually, Tinker Toy guessed it that YHC recently turned 49 yrs young. In the Valley, we climbed out 4 times w/ 4 merkins at the bottom & 9 WWII’s at the top. We then picked up Hank at the bottom because there is no dog left behind in F3.
After the Valley, we headed back to the flag where some Easter eggs and spoons were waiting. Several Easter egg races ensued. It would take too long to explain, but Renfield won . Somehow being a dentist gave him an advantage . After that, we did some rock work and it was time to finish.

COT: Stations of the Cross workout Friday, CSAUP Saturday, prayers for Wah Wah’s father and for us all to live each day for God’s glory.

TY for the opportunity. Little rusty, but felt great to Q again!

These 8 HIMs weren’t scared of a little rain, and good thing because it turned out to be a beautiful morning.

3 for the EC.
For the ME, moseyed around the sheep loop and executed warmups in the usual spot. Headed to the shelter for non-standard DORA consisting of 100 derkins, 200 step-ups (L+R=1), 300 dips. OTW was highly skeptical of my L/R counting, seeking clarification numerous times.

For thang 2 we grabbed a rock and traveled the sheep loop with periodic exercises, working our way up to rock yo body.

Great way to start the week.

10 kicked off the Spade/Homegrown Era at Jack It Up .

Quick mosey into the park, where we discovered… my trusty battlerope!

Rope run further into the park, where we discovered….. kettlebells and dumbells!

No music, but the budding Fruit Loop/Amway rivalry kept us entertained.

Hustle back to the flag. I showed my respect for the Pax by finishing on time.

TinkerToy was awarded the prize for most effort today, the final day of No Mail March. The prize consisted of various components of a NC food basket the Cannons couldn’t consume.

It was a beautiful morning for a site inspection.
Miles were covered as we ventured to the Valley and beyond, exercising in various culs-de-sac along the way. We also stopped in the Valley to pay respect to history with a Foxhole after Texas Ranger regaled us with the story of Trickle calling them at the very beginning of the site.
Back to the park and an inspection of the mulch trail around the pond. This was the only less than outstanding finding during our inspection as the trail could use some new mulch. A quick stop at the spooky old house and then back to the parking lot for a close inspection with some bear crawls and merkins. Then a mosey down by the sheep where we stopped for some irkins. This may have been the first time they were incorporated into a workout. Back up to the flag for the real reason people came out, side-plank-star-crunch.
After ensuring the site was in good order I handed the site-Q reigns over to Homegrown to lead us to greater heights. He and Spade will keep the great traditions of the premier sheep and Valley Monday morning site, while also building a great future. TYFL Homegrown!

6 souls came out for a St. Patrick’s Day themed workout. Rain started just prior to our start. First was the Pledge and then we moseyed across the way for some standard warmups for a 17 count.

We then headed down towards the holler better known as the Valley for the thang.

Dublin Dry Docks (CDD) in the center each time we passed through.

Made it back in time to get a sprint in up to flag and some 17 rep Mary exercises called out by the PAX with rain starting again before we finished.

Highland Games & SCARY picnic announced. Prayers sent.
