Omg…I spent 20 minutes writing up one of the best back blasts SCary would have ever seen and managed to delete it all. So you get this instead.

Since we had the two finalists in the merkin madness challenge in attendance so mumblechatter was high. We DORA’d and a lot of non-merkin exercises. We ended MARY with a single merkin.

12 HIMs and a half (pup) happily showed their commitment to fitness today. Took the rain or shine and hot or cold principles seriously.

We were quick to get started, pledge then mosey.

Pulled out the “water proof” deck of cards.

= beach body, 10 count of Mary any heart drawn.
= HIMs best friend, the burpee. Face value 2 to 13.
= merkins, face value 2-13
= get low in the club, jump squats, face value 2-13.

The twist! Any time an Ace is drawn perform the motivator. First ace is 5 reps, second is 10 and so on.

The workout, PAX draws card performs exercise, pickle, rinse and repeat.

Good news for these HIMs that all 4 aces were drawn. Bad news, a lot of diamonds were pulled. However for the 3rd ace drawn, we allowed a 5 burpee opportunity to draw again. We must of wanted it. The redraw was the 4th ace. Three rounds of motivator performed. Excellent job gents!!!

Fantastic day in the gloom. Warm coffee and a new need to learn more about Francois’ high-school soccer coach.

Prayers for the HIMs health, that we can stay strong and keep keeping on!

Merkins on a string to Waverly today to visit our brothers at 88 MPH for a rock, paper, scissors throwdown. Francois was nominated as the Krypto representative and promptly lost to Bubba. 10 Burpees for the losers. Back to Koka with more merkins on the way. Arrived with enough time for some popcorn Mary.

Mixed emotions by many about being used as pawns in the Worlds Scariest Man Challenge, and much heckling ensued. Deep down it warmed the hearts of all pax involved.

There was still snow on the ground too!!

Gathered at the upper pickle, a few introductions made, fumbled through some preplanned recitations, pledged some allegiance, and then moseyed to the lower lot to warmup, sharing some workout directions enroute.

Returned to grab some of the most beautifully crafted with love pain sticks my eyes could behold.

The thingy:
– partner with someone you least know.
– partners mosey to the lower pickle, each farmer carries two CMUs filled with concrete around the pickle (prolly 50 lbs each), mosey back. Collaborate en route.
– rest of pax perform called exercise, some with pain stick and some without, till their return.
– repeato with next group and so on.
– pax call the exercise. No counting, rather discussing this past week’s culture discussion.

As the second hand swept over to 0530, the chit-chatting came to an abrupt close and we jumped straight into it at the original High Tempo AO! No warning, no looking back. YHC quickly recognized he was the slowest and most out of shape runner in the crowd. Gonna be a day!

We high-tailed it over to the neighborhood just past the Garmin building for a reasonable warm-up (including 20 ‘Mericans) and then got right to it. Four corners in the neighborhood.

Round 1: 20 ‘Mericans at each corner (Brings us to 100)
Round 2: 50 Squats (Totals 200)
Round 3: 75 LBC’s (Totals 300)
For anyone participating in OTW’s Dora-A-Day challenge, day one is in the books for you.

Time to start heading back! We hightailed it top the gigantic parking lot and paused for ten Worst ‘Mericans Ever, then all you got for the almost half mile back to the flag, coming in only a few seconds over.

For the main event:

Mission statement, core principles, and the pledge at the flag, then we ran over to the office parking deck on Palace Green for three sets of four corners with plank jacks, Apollo Ono’s, Bobby Hurley‘s and Shakira‘s.

Run back to the park for a very modified mini Murph: pull-ups, merkins and squats then run the pickle , called for time at about seven or eight sets.

The runners joined in for COT. Stretch and a have a nice day for the finish.

We have a purpose, men. Be kind to others and MIAGD!
