Thang 1: The world’s shortest, but not easiest, 11’s. Bear crawl about 20 feet, Merkin, Crab Walk back, LBC.
Interlude: Washington Commanders Run (or Kenyan Queue) modified so the front person dropped off, performed 5 Merkins, then catches up to the back and yells “Loud and Proud, the Six”. After some confusion about which line the yelling was for one group modified the call to wish YHC a Happy Birthday.
Thang 2: 11’s on a hill. CDDs at top, Squats at bottom, and PAX choice of Everests or backwards run up the hill.

19 HIM ventured west across Tryon road, warmed up, painted lines, then started some “Long Elevens.” CDD at top of the hill and Fox hole Merkins at the bottom. made it to about 6 by the time we needed to roll back to the flag.

1-year ago today I learned what a HIM was. I appreciate this group. Thank you for continuing to make me better.

21 fine HIM came out to the great AO, Point Break. Another great weather morning and that started us off right. Quick disclaimer, the pledge and we were off. A short mosey jog around the way and ended up in front of Shake Shack.

After a warmup of 50 SSH’s and good mornings, we headed over to the center of Waverly. We started with 18 merkins for good measure and then the first of three set of 7’s since we are only 7 days away from Christmas. We learned a new burpee today and it’s the only burpee I will do. The Walmart Burpee! So Walmart burpees at the bottom of the stairs and CCD’s at the top.

Next set of 7’s were on the adjacent side of stairs with squats at the bottom and scorpion CCD’s at the top.

Final set of 7’s were on the narrow stairs on the back side of Waverly. We utilized the soft, wet, green fake grass to do X’s and Y’s at the bottom and regular merkins at the top.

We finally moseyed back to the flag and finished up with low slow flutters.

Christmas party tomorrow night and Oakwood 24 on Saturday. Prayers for Bubba’s friends, Jerry and Kelly going through medical issues, prayers for Term Papers family and prayers for Fresh Prince’s friend who is going through legal issues. All 10 Pax emerged on time, 5 from vehicles and 5 from various EC options. SWW might losing its grip on its famed EC variety…

An FNG was identified, fresh off the 1 mile EC so a disclaimer and five core principles were quickly laid out. Legalese was followed by the pledge. Mosey to the cul-de-sac for warm up on the way to the Holly Springs Rd neighborhood entrance but plans quickly to get our work done on Uncle David’s hill. 5 reps at peak 1, 10 reps in the valley and 15 reps at peak 2. CDDs for first set, dying cockroaches for 2nd set, hand release merkins for the 3rd and American hammers for the 4th and final set. Mosey back to the park with an awkward stop at the cul-de-sac to pickup the 6 and chicken with the dump truck. With a few laps around the pickle and a bit of Mary, time expired.

Most stretched. Some learned they need to stretch more often. A few ran and wished they’d stretched. Others did both. But forget the workout, nevermind public vs private school budgets, or voting, or even the fellowship. The atmosphere of the morning changed as soon as the coffee came out. Right from the pour we all knew our day would be better with Kirkland’s finest with the nut house creamer.

12 men joined me for a journey. A journey that went around and back again. There were trials, there were foes, and there were many manholes.

Pledge, mosey to cul-de-sac for warmup where I got reprimanded for my enthusiasm for the side straddle hop. Mosey to the Greenway for 7s of LBC and heels to heaven. Then continued on the journey with indian run. Paused in cul-de-sac to make sure we all made it. Then down into the depths of Lochmere.l golf course Greenway. 20 pushups at each manhole=100 total. Round the way and back up to the flag with star jumps and some fellowship on the way.

2 ’ers, 1 ’ite, 4 EC’ers, and 9 ME-only HIMs gathered in the gloom to slay the calorie-dragon this morning.

A pledge to Old-Glory and slow mosey on to the Whole Foods parking lot, using the long and scenic route, where we did our usual SCary warmups and a mini yoga session.

Thang 1 – Courtyard core work with LBCs at the bottom on the cool @Astro-turf, up the stairs on the left for a set of heels-to-heaven, across the parking lot to the other side for a set of Freddy-Mercs, and down the stairs for another round. 3 total rounds.

Thang 2 – A modified version of ‘The Impossible-Mile’ was the main course here. Broadjump burpees, lunges, bear-crawls, and a run around the building completed a set. 4 total sets putting us at just over an ‘Impossible Mile’!

Thirteen in the gloom for YHC’s 1 year(ish) anniversary. Though not as prepared as Spade, the Q had an alternate full immersion workout planned if the skies opened up. As that did not happen, we proceeded with alacrity through standard SCary warmups. The main event was three mini Doras of varying exercises punctuated with sprints in between to keep things funky fresh. Since it would not be a Fruit Loop Q without something from the Exicon, we made sure to pull out some greatest hits including Flying Nuns, Nutcrackers, and the ever popular Foxholes. We arrived back at the flag barely on time, but sure and steadfast in the accuracy of our GPS enabled chronometers. Thank you for a great first year, gentlemen.
