I ended my vacation early when I saw that the Q spot was open; Abruptly leaving my wife and daughter in paradise, i overspent and inconvenienced myself to get to Ritter Park on Friday morning. 3 boot campers were there and apparently 11 runners, if my math is correct
-First exercise: Wash and wax my truck; This thing aint gonna stay clean by itself; being out of the country all week, there was enough pollen to keep the PAX busy for a view minutes. We waxed on, Karate Kid style, until the sheen was acceptable, then we moved on

-Next up , we moseyed to my house; I needed to get rid of these geese, once and for all; i instructed the PAX to chase down and exterminate by any means; Boy, did they; you should see the look on HGTV’s face with his hands around the neck of those geese.
-Running out of time, we headed back to the flag, losing Yogi and that old guy along the way. I only recall hearing “Come get you some” slowly fading away somewhere around the lake.
-Great work this morning but i had to get back to my vacation; i’ll be sipping Mai Tais while you suckers read this. Thanks for your help this morning though. MIAGD

Solid out and back, with a few hill repeats, through the lovely hills of Macgregor. PAX were challenged to take the crown on a tough 0.2 mile uphill Strava segment that required a 4:17 min/mile pace for which the record had stood since 2020.

It was really ugly out there. YHC picked up the 6 and jogged with a very slow, seemingly out of shape Joe Smith back to NYB. YHC was wondering “did Back in Black make ole’ Joe soft? I need to encourage that guy.”

Lo and behold, Stravas we synced at COT and would you believe Joe snatched that crown!!! What a stud! Round of free coffees was purchased for all in celebration.

Merkins on a string to Waverly today to visit our brothers at 88 MPH for a rock, paper, scissors throwdown. Francois was nominated as the Krypto representative and promptly lost to Bubba. 10 Burpees for the losers. Back to Koka with more merkins on the way. Arrived with enough time for some popcorn Mary.

Mixed emotions by many about being used as pawns in the Worlds Scariest Man Challenge, and much heckling ensued. Deep down it warmed the hearts of all pax involved.

There was still snow on the ground too!!

10 campers and 3 runners, with some swwingers for coffeeteria.

Started with a quick mosey to the RLC parking lot for a warmup that prompted the discussion of whether it’s Thai Fighters or TIE Fighters, and if Oofda’s earthly or galactic travels could confirm either way. Later at coffeeteria, it was also discussed whether warmups should occur near the flag so late pax can still catch the group but this was vetoed in a region with, to quote, an embarrassment of riches (so you have less of an excuse to be late from having to drive forever to get there).

Thang 1 – partner up for catch me if you can around the lake, 10 merkins when caught. Darker than anticipated, rootier than recalled so we moved on after that.

Thang 2 – partner ab DORA across the bridge on KF. 100 freddies, 200 half sit-ups, 300 penguins.

Thang 3 – greenway run back and finish up the Dora in the parking lot.

Today, December 7th, 2024—a date which will live in infamy—the region of Carpex was suddenly and deliberately attacked by the pax of South Cary. All in good fun, though, as we invited them all to the party.

Maynardrenaline was high for this Major 1stF Challenge. When it was all said and done, we had:
– 2 current Nantans
– 2 former Nantans
– 1 shirtless lunatic (I’ll give you one guess)
– 12 Days of Christmas EC
– 100 merkin EC
– 2 six-packs + EC’s completed (Astro and OTW)
– Christmas Elvis appearance
– 6 Maynard first-timers, if I am counting correctly (Astro, OTW, Spade, French Lick, WebMD, Dunk)
– At least 6 Maynard or 10-mile PR’s (The Super, Hallmark, Revere, Saban, Astro, French Lick, if I missed anyone let me know)
– A new F3 Maynard segment leader, and 2nd overall (Revere)
– Over $500 raised so far for the Matthew Larson Foundation for Pediatric Brain Tumors, and I’ll be donating an additional $10 per person for each person who ran today.
