Another AMBRR is in the books fellas. A huge shout out to the entire SAG Crew for all they did to make this a successful event. There is a lot that goes on behind the scene leading up to the event and during. I can’t thank them enough for their leadership.

Under the darkness of the early morning sky at 0600, 31 runners set out to achieve something. What that “something” was was different for each of us. Some ran for fun and fellowship, others ran to beat a previous time or distance and others ran to prove to themselves that they could run a 10K or a Half Marathon. Whatever that something was, I am hopeful we all achieved what we intended to.

I am grateful for F3 and how it has impacted my life and for the relationships formed over the past couple of years…

The entire X-Press squad minus the 2 excused absences of @hermes and @flop attended this edition of the weekly BRR hill-training run. We were joined by 3 guests and together we covered 10 plus hilly miles through the Umstead State Park.

Joint coffeeteria with the Carpex boys was an interesting one with offerings of jello-shots, bananas, and a whole pineapple expertly cored into chunks, table-side by chef @trickle. Good stuff!!!

WARMUP: Quick jog and stretching, including the South Cary Stretch in McGregor Parking lot. Moseyed to Thang1. THE THANG: Thang 1 quickly devolved into complaints about bear crawls. Thang 2.5 involved carrying Racing Junk up a long hill while complaining. Thang3 involved Blimps + Blim and Fireman Carry on teh ramps with moderate complaints. Thang 4, nothing but complaints about the Qs use of a wet winky and poor attempt to explain the Carpex Core Challenge. Thank 5, widely varying efforts on hill repeats and complaints. Several ruckers were rucking along the way. Big thanks to @Astro and @Oofda for coffeeteria and @Doula for bringing a lot of MOAB first-timers and veterans out. Overall, amazing display of toughness and cross-region support with 45 pax! Announcements: Highland Games, Marathon Support Needed, and Peak City run coming up. When in the course of human events, we get 76 + 1 PAX to descend upon Ritter Park, we do so to honor the birth of our great nation and celebrate our freedom.

Many brave souls ventured out to conquer one of the 3 EC options available. A near-problematic number embarked on the treacherous Freedom EC to capture a shovel flag being held by the British Crown, deep in the Scottish Highlands of Lochmere.

The main event started with a 1776-yard mosey (approx 1 mile) and then we proceeded to work through a list of 1776 reps between 17 different exercises….100 reps each, then we bear crawled 100 yards back to the flags and did 76 burpees together going around the circle where each PAX had a chance to call “down” for 1 burpee.

We covered 1.76 miles in total, according to Hello Kitty’s official Strava record. This backblast may also have taken 1776 seconds to write. 4 FNG’s named. Callahan took us out in prayer. Pinto snapped a great group pic. The afterparty included several pots of coffee, water, beer, hard seltzers, danishes, American flag cookie, and great fellowship. Thank you to everyone who joined us to participate and everyone who contributed to make this event a success!
