A dozen goombahs set out on a mostly-run workout with perhaps the most Jersey Italian guy in SCary.

The Pax were advised to stretch prior to the workout, as is recommended in Freed To Lead. We departed promptly at 0515 as we had much ground to cover. Ran about a mile to the Regus parking lot where we did a warmup round of 10 American Hammers, much to Hermes’ disappointment as he said we were wasting precious running time.

We then proceeded through the pathway behind Lifetime to get us over to Ritter, where we did a flyby of the Stonecutters crew and flag. We also stopped for a quick Thang which included 20 pull-ups OYO and while you weren’t going pull-ups, you did burpees. Once everyone was done, we ran the greenway back to Regency Pkwy for a set of American Sledgehammers. Then we went up to the Caterpillar parking lot where we did some catch-me-if-you-can and then did a round of American Sledgehammers at the location where that exercise was born 3 years ago. Back to the flag as the clock struck 6.

There was a lot of disappointment today. Hermes didn’t get the all-running workout he wanted. Enhancements didn’t get his Good Mornings. All I wanted was a coffee and some pound cake, but after hearing about how that would cost $7 at Starbucks, we decided to head over to NYBD instead, where I felt right at home. MIAGD.

Eight set off to test my new watch. Headed to Ritter for some dips and erkins, up the road for some quick good mornings, then over to Harris teeter for the thang. 7s across the parking lot with merkins and pull ups on the cart returns. Couldn’t figure out my watch and started to worry about time so back to the flag. We got back with time to spare so a quick fly by of monkey humpers for the smelly billy strings fanatics already camped out at koko.
Thanks for the opportunity to lead. It’s been a great 2 years of fitness and I’m even coming to enjoy the fellowship!

The SCary PAX converged this morning at a true fitness mecca: Waffle House. Thanks to the genius of Yoga Mat for dusting off this CSAUP a mere two weeks ago and bringing the crazy idea back to life. It went kind of like this:

1 big and dense waffle
2 eggs
2 pieces of buttery toast
Hash brows/grits (def not tomato)
Bacon/sausage (def not ham)
5K (3.00 to 3.16mi depending on watch and route)

Various techniques were observed to get the food down quick. Thread your favorite below.
A good time was had by all and amazingly no one reported a Merlot.

Temps were high, as was the workout tempo. PB flag is on the IR so we pledged to the CFA flag and took off for the grassy area for warmups, including the motivator led by Flintstone.

Thang 1 – 12 min of up and down the stairs. Except for one Pax who kept on modifying to do merkins at the bottom. HTSI.

Thang 2 – over to the building in the back for out and backs with exercises at each tree island. Run to the first island for 2 merks and 2 jump squats. Then run back to the start. Then to the second tree island for 4 of each and so on until we completed our 12 even only combinatorial set. Quick round of mary while the six came in.

Back to the flag for another Flintstone motivator! Then regular Mary.

To close out the Pokemon week, we played with a deck of Basic Energy cards. Each card represented an exercise. Some cards had a dice roll to call the count, others were just called by a dad.

Warmups after a brief mosey. Questionable form per usual in SCary. Mosey back to the playground for the thang.

Kids took turns flipping a card and we threw in a pickle lap in the middle of the deck. The illusive fire burpees were finally found!

A few dad called exercises to round out the morning and then a final mosey to cover a full mile.

Picnic coming soon and camping trip. YHC took us out.

This was my first Q of this AO and probably my favorite Q yet. It may have looked like herding cats to those watching us run around but nothing is more fun than the opportunity to lead along side you HIM with the 2.x’s watching and learning. MIAGD!

What better way to start off my JIU 2025 Q season than with everyone’s favorite thang. That’s right, 9 brave pax conquered the Valley today for a set of 21s (properly counted this time). Merkins on one end, shoulder taps on the other (though not “all the way to the top” much to Trickle’s dismay). 5 squats at the bottom each time. It was noted that this was probably the most cumulative maximum effort given by the pax while traversing the valley. No mailboxing today. Nice work gents.
