I’m trying to fully recall JIU this am. Likely the most memorable was the realization of where the extra Picnic beans went….directly to TinkerToy. Today we experienced a random and unpleasant atmosphere around him. Apologies did not save us. Although this @Bubbles character remained an enigma, Tink revealed that he may be, in fact, the true bubble maker in the bunch. The drop for each burpee was like falling through low lying blanket of campfire smoke or fog one can see in a pastoral valley on a winter’s day. But a minute is a minute and we were not allowed to leave until the exercise was finished. Because that’s how we roll. Beyond that it’s a good thing I showed up to save that Q slot from this bubbles guy. A hearty EMOM took us over hill and dale, 20 exercises mixed in and we MIAGM despite the shenanigans. Pushing the PAX. Master brewing site Q gave us coffee that was on point.

Started a few seconds late then moseyed to the Harris teeter for the main thang. Time to start getting ready for the Murph so partner Dora with pull ups, merkins, and squats. From there lots of moseying with random exercises and a 4 corners thrown in. Bubba particularly enjoyed the running and skipping. MIAGD

A dozen goombahs set out on a mostly-run workout with perhaps the most Jersey Italian guy in SCary.

The Pax were advised to stretch prior to the workout, as is recommended in Freed To Lead. We departed promptly at 0515 as we had much ground to cover. Ran about a mile to the Regus parking lot where we did a warmup round of 10 American Hammers, much to Hermes’ disappointment as he said we were wasting precious running time.

We then proceeded through the pathway behind Lifetime to get us over to Ritter, where we did a flyby of the Stonecutters crew and flag. We also stopped for a quick Thang which included 20 pull-ups OYO and while you weren’t going pull-ups, you did burpees. Once everyone was done, we ran the greenway back to Regency Pkwy for a set of American Sledgehammers. Then we went up to the Caterpillar parking lot where we did some catch-me-if-you-can and then did a round of American Sledgehammers at the location where that exercise was born 3 years ago. Back to the flag as the clock struck 6.

There was a lot of disappointment today. Hermes didn’t get the all-running workout he wanted. Enhancements didn’t get his Good Mornings. All I wanted was a coffee and some pound cake, but after hearing about how that would cost $7 at Starbucks, we decided to head over to NYBD instead, where I felt right at home. MIAGD.

A few did a variety of ECs and subsequently 8 gathered at the flag to jumpstart the morning.

Mosey, a quick warmup and then to the one and only thang: BBB-LLL-III-MMM-PPP-SSS while hitting every single cul-de-sac in the Birklands neighborhood.

Minimum 5K was covered and a lot of sweat equity was spent. Great group of guys as always and thoroughly enjoyed it.

10 kicked off the Spade/Homegrown Era at Jack It Up .

Quick mosey into the park, where we discovered… my trusty battlerope!

Rope run further into the park, where we discovered….. kettlebells and dumbells!

No music, but the budding Fruit Loop/Amway rivalry kept us entertained.

Rotate, rotate, rotate, rotate, rope run, repeato,

Hustle back to the flag. I showed my respect for the Pax by finishing on time.

TinkerToy was awarded the prize for most effort today, the final day of No Mail March. The prize consisted of various components of a NC food basket the Cannons couldn’t consume.

Loch n Load had great energy this morning as we all came together to get some fitness in our own ways on this fine Saturday morning. 12 bootcampers, 4 Accelerators, 3 ruckers, 1 Ocho’er, and a partridge in a pear tree.

YHC led the feisty bootcamp crew with the mission, disclaimer, pledge and then mosey to the dock for a quick warmup. Then we crossed the street and went down to the bottom of the hill where we found……THE WHEEL OF PAIN!!! How did that get there? Not sure, but it was looking extra Painful this morning.

We took turns spinning the Wheel and went through the exercises, which included:
– Run up the hill and do 30 each of dips, derkins, and irkins
– 40 WWI’s
– 20 pull-ups
– 10 burpees and run the pickle
– 50 merkins
– 50 L/R LBC’s and run the pickle
– Crawl bear up the hill
– And back to home base to finish with the last one, which was bear crawl pickle and all you got back to the flag.

Only about 2 miles covered, but we were sufficiently cooked by the end. Good to see Sanka coming out on a regular basis and was good to meet O.R. for this first time, with this being his second post. We’ve got a good thing going here, and it’s great to see it growing. Also special thanks to our new LnL site Q’s Jigglypuff and Morpheus for their top-notch performance their first week on the job. A mite chilly at Swingers this morning. Playlist did not have a theme — merely songs the Q was in the mood to hear. Workout progressed through the following:

Started with intervals of 1 min each, backed to 50 secs after the first round. Brief farmer’s carry between sets. Repeat 3x.

Thanks to the guys that showed up, worked hard and pulled me into leading what would have otherwise turned into a fartsack day. MIAGD!

Omg…I spent 20 minutes writing up one of the best back blasts SCary would have ever seen and managed to delete it all. So you get this instead.

Since we had the two finalists in the merkin madness challenge in attendance so mumblechatter was high. We DORA’d and a lot of non-merkin exercises. We ended MARY with a single merkin.
