On the morn of the 169th Loch-n-Load, a non-baker’s dozen emerged from the farthest corners of South Cary (and beyond) for the 2nd-ever Site Q transition workout at the illustrious Area of Operations. The PAX pledged and prepared for a lengthier-than-usual HG diatribe… which was boiled down to a ‘LETS GO’ and we were off.

Loop around Whisperwood when we encountered our first stroke of adversity – an enlimpened Site Q emerged on the warmup circle. After much groaning at the warmup choices, the group returned to Lochmere Drive and headed to the bridge for Irkins, Merkins, and Derkins IN THE STREET. T-Clap to our safety minded PAX for keeping us safe.

To the bottom of the hill and Tonnage took over. PTL. Rocks and Hills. Never easy! Back to the top and split off our walking contingent. Transitioned the Q to Morpheus, who took us to the newly minted Morpheus Drive for 7s – Merkins at the top, squat jumps at the bottom. Burpees til the 6 at the bottom until the transition to Jigglypuff!

Mosey back through the pickle area to the bball hoop. Shoot a free-ish throw, do 5 burpees if you miss. Mosey back to the flag, rejoining the walkers who were mid-air-hump. About 10s late though, so have a nice day!

6 embarked on a journey following the JDI route. But a mid run audible was called to pursue quieter, more discussion friendly roads. And it paid off. Great open discussion about what retirement means to each person, with a coalescence around the idea that it’s really about following your passions in life. The current concept of retirement in America originated in Germany in the late 1800s, which led to a tangent of this excellent skit from the late Norm McDonald, copied below for your entertainment.

1 RC’er and 1 WC’er and 13 boots. The idea I had when I pulled up was triple nickels, but the where was not set. Pledge and off we go. Exited the park to the left on a whim and stopped after some uphill running for a warmup/stretch.

Mosey to the stairs/deck for Triple Nickels. Merkins at the bottom, Nantan Jump Squats in the middle, French Burpees at the top of the deck. 5-7 rounds were completed.

Mosey to the most pristine parking lot in SCary for some partial Dora partner work. 60/120/180 with a pickle up the hidden ramp.

We had time so we did a partner out and back in the lot with 80%+ OTW back in.

Finally back through the woods towards the flag. A few Mary calls and HAND!

It was a beautiful morning in SCary and 24 strong posted to take advantage! The clock struck 6:30 and a disclaimer was stumbled through. The pledge was pledged and we left the parking lot on a slow warm-up mosey. Some went right, most went left down to the tennis courts for some flying warmups.

Half ran the pickle, half AMRAP’d the called exercise.

Depart the tennis courts and over to the first round-about. This is where I called Dora’s pet mouse, “Speedy Gonzales”.
12 burpees
24 Merkins
36 squats
While your partner sprints the round-about.

Then we did an 8+2 up the hill to the flag. 8 steps bear crawl, 2 merkins, wash, rinse, repeat to the flag.

At the flag repeat the “Speedy Gonzales” on the larger round-about

Afterwards, reverse it.

Drop down for SCary stretch and afterwards, slow mosey to the bottom of the parking lot.

Rolling sprint up the parking lot to the flag, recover mosey around the round-about and back down the hill.

Rolling sprint up the parking lot half the distance and then circle up for popcorn Merry. We finished up with an @amway honoring set of 20 Merkins.

A Q that’s been building for 9 months and like a long pregnancy the wait is over and a beautiful baby boy has arrived at 88 for a morning bootcamp with the HIM of SCary.

We did some motivators to warm-up along with some stretching for the cold temps.

The men then split up for some stairs and laps to include merkins, squats, LBCs, Ierkins, dips, and ALRSU, all for the March Madness Bros of course.

We got back together for a lap and then did some bear crawling, lunging, and partner merkins.

We hit another lap and got some Mary in.

By my count the workout had 120 merkins, not to include what a few guys called during Mary (do add accordingly).

It was an honor to be with you men today, even you, Big Red.

6 met at Panera for some discussion about anger or frustration towards God and is it ok, how do we handle it if it happens. Following a write up from I Am Second about the topic. It’s ok to talk to God about the ups and the downs the important part is, if you are a believer, you should be talking to him. The final takeaway was trust. Regardless of what you feel or say to him, TRUST in him. MIAGD!

7 took to the Doughcho (and crushed it) and 11 for the main event. The route was a lengthened version of my Q from last week at JRI. Very nice, flat route for the first 3.5 and then not so much for the following mile. Was a pleasure to run alongside you HIMs. Great to have Oofda back from his latest world travels and Trickle back to nearing full strength.

Announcements are plentiful in our great region. Praises and prayers for Hermes’ forthcoming mission trip with his 2.0. Prayers for all of us to make an impact on those around us. MIAGD.

A bunch of SCary-ites and 2.0s plus many outside our region came together for the premier family friendly donut eating race in our fine state. Grateful for the turnout, the volunteers and the pax who makes this all possible – Bagels. Special thanks to Shut In for planning the route and providing thorough instructions. Congrats to our 2025 winners Zero Drop and Daniel Boone. Special props to Web MD’s M who unofficially became the first female full qualifying finisher. We truly did make this a great day.
