3 Cleaverers (Clevearites? Cleaverians?) and 16 bootcampers launched from Point Break on a crisp and windy morning. After a mosey and warmup we found safety from the wind in a parking deck, at Term Paper’s welcome suggestion.
Thang 1: The world’s shortest, but not easiest, 11’s. Bear crawl about 20 feet, Merkin, Crab Walk back, LBC.
Interlude: Washington Commanders Run (or Kenyan Queue) modified so the front person dropped off, performed 5 Merkins, then catches up to the back and yells “Loud and Proud, the Six”. After some confusion about which line the yelling was for one group modified the call to wish YHC a Happy Birthday.
Thang 2: 11’s on a hill. CDDs at top, Squats at bottom, and PAX choice of Everests or backwards run up the hill.
Mosey back to the flag, couple minutes o’ Mary, and Have a Nice Day!

Today we conquered the tried and true Regency loop, with stops for a set of sevens at Garmin and a quick visit down Ave of the Estates. We all got better and also learned that Hermes was a debutante, or attended a debutante ball, can’t really remember all the details. MIAGD fellas!

10 campers and 3 runners, with some swwingers for coffeeteria.

Started with a quick mosey to the RLC parking lot for a warmup that prompted the discussion of whether it’s Thai Fighters or TIE Fighters, and if Oofda’s earthly or galactic travels could confirm either way. Later at coffeeteria, it was also discussed whether warmups should occur near the flag so late pax can still catch the group but this was vetoed in a region with, to quote, an embarrassment of riches (so you have less of an excuse to be late from having to drive forever to get there).

Thang 1 – partner up for catch me if you can around the lake, 10 merkins when caught. Darker than anticipated, rootier than recalled so we moved on after that.

Thang 2 – partner ab DORA across the bridge on KF. 100 freddies, 200 half sit-ups, 300 penguins.

Thang 3 – greenway run back and finish up the Dora in the parking lot.

Just two of us today, so I ditched my planned Q and we ran. We put in a good four miles (with some hill repeats thrown in for good measure). He needs hills to prepare for the steep inclines of Uhwarrie, I need hills to prepare for the steep inclines of … Myrtle Beach (maybe there will be a sand dune). Anyways, good Boxing Day workout. It was 5:44 and 3 lonely souls somberly stood at the flag. All of the sudden, out of nowhere, the PAX rolled in hot, fresh off their post Christmas party hangover, ready to get to work.

Started with a longerish mosey out of the park to warmups, and then painted the lines on our way back in. Headed to the coupon stash for the thang. Partnered up, and each round one PAX would execute an Iron PAX Challenge inspired feat while the other completed an AMRAP exercise. Then swap. Feats completed included Murder Bunnies, Blockies, overhead coupon carry, Redrum Bunnies, coupon lunge walk, standing broad jump. We might just have some new IPC converts for 2025! Only one block destroyed.

Post COT the PAX found themselves lost with no site Qs or coffee in sight. Rumor was that coffee was over at the pavilion, but were there cups? Was it too far? Most decided to head directly to Escalator or hit the showers. Site Qs may need to re-engage before SWW becomes only a memory.

20 HIM gathered fora nice Kryptonite fly by with a few hills sprinkled in. Great weather and great pace today!

Christmas party this Thursday and the Oakwood 24 this Saturday. Praises WebMD’s new job starting in January and prayers for the families in Wisconsin.

8 runners ran ( i assume the GTL proposed 10 miler); 6 Boot campers faced the cold in definitely not Pearls on a String. We did however do a warmup and some exercises on the way to the Thang. Thang was a YHC favorite Triple Nickel on the Kildaire hill. The definition of Triple Nickel was questioned and I continue to doubt what it is as i type this. Nonetheless, One legged Merkins were done (5 reps for each leg elevated) at the top of the hill, Zombie Crunches (5 reps of oblique focused crunches on each side) at the bottom. YHC planned more but didn’t realize how far it was from the flag to the hill. 3 miles covered and a variety of body parts were exercised over the morning. Good discussion of worthless baseball cards, grapefruits, pears, Belichick, toys that are too big, and virtual holiday partys. Great group; thanks for letting me lead

7 Pax thoroughly embraced the five core principles of F3 especially: “Held outdoors regardless of the weather”

We started at the flag with Side Strattle Hops, South Cary Stretch, and Merkins.

Then we moseyed over to the Lowes Foods hill where we did a very slippery set of sevens. (Merkins and WWII)

That lot was too slippery so we moseyed over to the medical park where we did a round of Dora with the long prickle. (100 Merkins, 200 Squats, 300 LBCs)

We had some time left so we did four corners around a building with a bear crawl across the final Side. (5 burpees, 10 Merkin, 15 Squats, 20 LBCs)

Then we Moseyed back to the flag for a round of Mary.

Twas a brisk morning for a tour of Lochmere golf course. 13 pax navigated the cart paths up to the Beast of Birklands hill. Pushing up a 20% incline was absolutely the climax of our run, and possible our day! Stories were shared, world problems were solved. Was an honor to lead today.

Reminder about world’s greatest Maynard this Saturday.

YHC prayed for any unspoken prayers, and encouraged everybody to read psalm 139. Which reminds us that each one of us was uniquely and wonderfully made by God! Everybody has a purpose!!
