There was something for everyone this morning at South Cary’s premier Saturday AO. 8 runners ran, 8 boot campers boot camped, and 1 rucker rucked.
The boot campers made it down to the docks for standard warmups which quickly shifted to flying warmups because YHC didn’t want to cadence count any more.
Up to the road for what would be our thang for the day: counting the posts of the red railings that line the road. First section: squats, start at 1 and increment by at 1 each post until we get to the middle. There are 25 posts on that side of the dam, so 325 squats later we started on the other side, this time with overhead presses, to see if the railing was symmetrical. It was. After 325 overhead presses (and multiple amused drivers wondering what we were doing) we made it to the far side of that damn dam and could turn around and enjoy the sunrise over the lake.
Time to go back across. This time we did Paula Abdul’s (2 steps forward one step back) lunge walking 2 posts forward, running back one. After doing that for a bit, changed it up for time: run 2, lunge walk back 1. Made it to the middle bridge where the swans were swanning and the clock was ticking and started moseying back towards the flag, stopping a couple times for rounds of irkins on the railing.
YHC stepped in on the mosey back so we cut across the grass and slowed to a shuffle to wipe it off before a vanilla mary (LBCs, Chris R’s Cobras, Superman’s/Aussie Snow Angels). HAND as the runners returned to the flag.

4 for a 3 mile ec. 9 for main event. Great Eschatological discussion. Where is “the Rapture” in the Bible? What about all those “dead in Christ” prior to being “caught up” (Greek ‘harpazo’: caught up, seize, snatch, take away by force). What happens after being caught up? What about those that don’t get caught up? Do we really even know what will happen? Does it matter? Generally based on 1 Thessalonians Ch.4. Which contextually is generally providing guidance for grief over believers who have died.

Also a discussion on baptism and various view points. Touched a bit on Calvinism and Catholicism.

One near crash by Promo. Some worn out legs by YHC. Wishing Trickle safe travels as he embarks on an adventure of a lifetime today.

4 PAX ventured out to discuss WORK & PURPOSE. Great discussion at the Accelerator today as Pax shared how our careers have developed and how they tie into God’s purpose for our lives. Wisdom shared about mistakes, identity, seeking God’s will, and self-worth. Ran 5 miles in 45 min, back in time for COT scheduled time.

Loch n Load had great energy this morning as we all came together to get some fitness in our own ways on this fine Saturday morning. 12 bootcampers, 4 Accelerators, 3 ruckers, 1 Ocho’er, and a partridge in a pear tree.

YHC led the feisty bootcamp crew with the mission, disclaimer, pledge and then mosey to the dock for a quick warmup. Then we crossed the street and went down to the bottom of the hill where we found……THE WHEEL OF PAIN!!! How did that get there? Not sure, but it was looking extra Painful this morning.

We took turns spinning the Wheel and went through the exercises, which included:
– Run up the hill and do 30 each of dips, derkins, and irkins
– 40 WWI’s
– 20 pull-ups
– 10 burpees and run the pickle
– 50 merkins
– 50 L/R LBC’s and run the pickle
– Crawl bear up the hill
– And back to home base to finish with the last one, which was bear crawl pickle and all you got back to the flag.

Only about 2 miles covered, but we were sufficiently cooked by the end. Good to see Sanka coming out on a regular basis and was good to meet O.R. for this first time, with this being his second post. We’ve got a good thing going here, and it’s great to see it growing. Also special thanks to our new LnL site Q’s Jigglypuff and Morpheus for their top-notch performance their first week on the job. Run bros did their thing and 7 HIMs did SB’25 boot camp.

With spring break on the horizon I took the lead and helped these HIMs earn extra calories in the form of future miller lights.

Started with pledge, warmups and a mile mosey. After that we never stopped moving.

Did some 7’s and stair work to get the blood flowing.

Thang 2 was the DE-motivator. 4 exercises in sequence starting at 10 ending at 1. Started with Rocky’s Dog (curb toe taps), high knees, tuck jumps, and squats. The HIMS loved this one!

After talking about how great thang 2 was we headed back to the flag. Doing 3 burpees at each light post.

Got back to the flag for two more motivators! Completed the normal motivator of SSH’s and attempted an all abs variation. We’ll get better at it!

Boot camp is back! Enjoy those beers over SB’25 fellas!

With FNG Phillip present I was able to belt out our Mission but got help with the core 5 as we started our mosey. No pumpkins today. It would have been very unseasonal. Was trying to be tricky but the PAX saw right through it. Remarkable the memory of the PAX. Glad for the early leadership of our new FNG who reminded me of the FrogUp exercise (bottom of a burpee). We continued accelerating through a 10-cone street workout. Lots of other exercises, I can’t remember any except the burpees. But we did inflate each exercise for 55 by the 10th cone, an age I’m fast approaching, I think soon. Thankful for the leadership and memory triggers of other PAX like Water Wings who really has a ‘thing’ for left vs right; and of OTW for reminding me time does not stop for Q; and of our new FNG Phillip properly named OR. BTW – he’s a long time Cary-ite, a respect, and he’s not buddies with Enhancements. He was brought out today by Big Red and our visiting F3 Raleigh brother Vortex. They’ve been working on him for a year. Welcome OR! Did you know that Loch n Load is a Saturday….oops.

PS. After some delicate investigation this week HG has learned some of the inside workings of the upcoming Highland Game. Although sworn to secrecy I think it’s safe to say a few words about it. Every year it seems to me “how can this be topped”. So much effort goes into this stuff. But THIS YEAR… holy smokey….”prepare yourselves”.

1 RC’er and 1 WC’er and 13 boots. The idea I had when I pulled up was triple nickels, but the where was not set. Pledge and off we go. Exited the park to the left on a whim and stopped after some uphill running for a warmup/stretch.

Mosey to the stairs/deck for Triple Nickels. Merkins at the bottom, Nantan Jump Squats in the middle, French Burpees at the top of the deck. 5-7 rounds were completed.

Mosey to the most pristine parking lot in SCary for some partial Dora partner work. 60/120/180 with a pickle up the hidden ramp.

We had time so we did a partner out and back in the lot with 80%+ OTW back in.

Finally back through the woods towards the flag. A few Mary calls and HAND!
