The theme was ‘find all the things that Jiggz lost’ – a round plate, a pain stick, another pain stick, a CMU, and a kettlebell scattered throughout the neighborhood. One metaphor in my head was ‘the things I’ve forgotten and relearned over the years’. The metaphor spoken aloud, however, was Pokémon Go. This felt more fitting (and easier to overlay), so we’ll go with that. Although I’mnot sure which Pokemon is most pain-stick-like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

After collecting all the items with Merkins and Squats as the pearls on our string, we moved as a group up and down Chaumont Hill while the two unencumbered PAX ran down and up the hill to lap us. Finally head back to the flag with the items. Load some in my car, and French Lick was gracious to return the items borrowed from ChrisR’s pile On The Way back to Lochmere.

Lifted up Dowry’s dad and GravelMouth’s job search. 2 stayed for coffee… but they carpooled so coffeeteria was conducted on the road. Still delicious, reigns.

RAINY MORNINGS ARE THE BEST!! Nowhere to hide from the suck. I feel like 50% of my rainy workouts have been at Thunderstruck too… which means you definitely fail your dome inspection. Nevertheless, site Q kept us safe and with flag today, so, redemption. MIAG[Rainy]D!

No snowflakes at this workout. We got steamy real quick at JRI, despite the wind. Power walked it, some off road, over to the hospital parking deck. Hit the stairs all 3 corners, up n down to our heart’s delight. Ramp work w/agility and some upper body weighted power moves. Pure joy for some. Minor grumbling. But keeping heart rates up was the goal. Hopefully we achieved that today.

As we go through life on earth we encounter tragedy in places unexpected. We have to deal with it. But how? Special recognition went out during our COT for the individuals affected by the tragedy occurring to others. Showing courtesy, respect, understanding, assistance to the friends, family of the victims is what’s on the table here.

4 PAX braved the cold damp climate after a late night of one-sided football. I can’t remember the last time I got out of the car and thought that I didn’t want to do this. But that’s the space we strive to be right? Do hard things. Here we go…

Warmup lap down two of the culdesacs for warmups. Back to the park for the thangs.

THANG 1 – Figure 8s around the playground, stopping at the vertex each time for 8 merkins. 8 stops total.

THANG 2 – [modified for group size] Sets of Irkins/StepUps/ShoulderShrugs/Dips in the pavilion split up by sheep loops. 20-16-12-8 on the reps.

Back to the flag for stand up Mary, which was harder than it sounded.

That’s it! Held to the mission yet again, I do enjoy these much smaller groups. Today felt like a repeat of the vaguely damp 4-man workout from a few weeks ago. I think I live the closest to JSP out of today’s group, so I was grateful y’all made the journey. One down, five to go!

A great crowd this morning at Thunderstruck gathered to pay homage to a couple of local HIMs.
Mosey, warmups, and venture into Glenridge. Throughout workout any time we saw a car we stopped what we were doing and played it cool (squat hold and read newspaper). We traveled to various houses and culdesacs with two special stops at casa de Tonnage and casa de Snip. Added a new exercise at each stop along the way.

Immediate launch with a brisk pace. We then had the people’s choice between the chair or balls to the wall, both and neither were enjoyable.
On our way back to the flag we were able to get in a set of dips and irkins. This left just enough time for some Chillcut-ing before we really start having a nice day.

4 HIMs started the morning with a slowzy EC followed by 12 for the ME.

Started with a trip up the Tryon Hill doing the warmup as we ascended and descended. Headed to the business park on Tryon and Cary pkwy.

7 if diamonds was the thang. Exercises at 4 corners in multiples of 7. Burpees (7), jump squats (14), “lemon squeezers” {a quick boat/canoe basically} (21), and calf raises/lunges (28).

First Q of 2025, and only 15 more to go based on @OTW’s goals for me this year. The moto for today was to finish what you started, so I finished the workout from my last Shepard’s Watch Q that I did with the ABC’s of F3. We only made it through half of my extra large Winkie that day, so my goal today was to make it through the other half. We started with some PT exercises for the warm-up, and then moved into the F3 Fit Games (Thang 2 from my original workout) where you partner up and race other teams by doing a series of exercises at each island across the parking lot. Once that was completed after my expert explanation of how it worked, we then completed the ABC’s of F3 but started at Z and finished on Q. Some questionable exercises were called by the PAX included X Squats and Y Squats, but YHC did not have his phone to verify these so we went with it. We ended with the Quadraphilia which is a real exercise (f3nation.com/post/quadraphilia). Thanks to everyone who has pushed me to Q more. Prayers for OTW with a sick kid, those dealing with the wildfires in California, and French Licks 2.0 who got a concussion. MIAGD!

19 HIM ventured west across Tryon road, warmed up, painted lines, then started some “Long Elevens.” CDD at top of the hill and Fox hole Merkins at the bottom. made it to about 6 by the time we needed to roll back to the flag.

1-year ago today I learned what a HIM was. I appreciate this group. Thank you for continuing to make me better.

Shut-In 10 year anniversary Q at A Team with 26…many of whom had been doing this a long time. Including approx 7 that I think qualify for the rip count.

Workout included 7s, tennis court movements/B2W, rock work and unclear instructions. Congrats to Shut-In, a real HIM of HIMs, on a great 10 year run and tremendous impact in and out of F3!
