12 HIMs and a half (pup) happily showed their commitment to fitness today. Took the rain or shine and hot or cold principles seriously.

We were quick to get started, pledge then mosey.

Pulled out the “water proof” deck of cards.

= beach body, 10 count of Mary any heart drawn.
= HIMs best friend, the burpee. Face value 2 to 13.
= merkins, face value 2-13
= get low in the club, jump squats, face value 2-13.

The twist! Any time an Ace is drawn perform the motivator. First ace is 5 reps, second is 10 and so on.

The workout, PAX draws card performs exercise, pickle, rinse and repeat.

Good news for these HIMs that all 4 aces were drawn. Bad news, a lot of diamonds were pulled. However for the 3rd ace drawn, we allowed a 5 burpee opportunity to draw again. We must of wanted it. The redraw was the 4th ace. Three rounds of motivator performed. Excellent job gents!!!

Fantastic day in the gloom. Warm coffee and a new need to learn more about Francois’ high-school soccer coach.

After Astro and YHC participated in the 1-mile EC, everyone was left wondering who the Q would be. Alas, YHC got in my car and left.

BUT WAIT!

Just as the clock struck 0530 and everyone thinking Astro would be their Q, YHC came roaring in the back entrance of the parking lot and emerged from my vehicle like a knight in shining armor. After bidding farewell to my partner in crime, we headed off to embark on our journey.

After a quick warmup along Tryon to demonstrate some AKOA favorites, which are now SCary favorites, we then proceeded to do the main Thang which was a pearls-on-a-string style inflating and deflating set of AKOA exercises along the entire stretch of the dark greenway.

The exercises were as follows:
5 stingray merkins
10 Stifler’s moms (even though Gravel Mouth doesn’t know who that is)
15 American sledgehammers
20 Astro jacks
25 Marge 2 Homers
30 sledgehammer WWII’s

We added one exercise at each stop, until we got to the top of the pyramid (30 reps), then we removed one exercise at each stop until we got back to the nonexistent flag.

Lastly, we circled up for some Cat Scratch Fever, then did some tuck jumps to get everyone moving again, then we went around and did some popcorn Mary to close it out. Was great to be back at the other Friday AO location. Not a lot of mumblechatter today but I enjoyed it. Thanks for the opportunity to lead. MIAGD.

AKOA week continues. Beautiful brisk morning at Point Break, with a little bit of something for everyone, Cleaver-ites, Ruckers, and Bootcampers. Problematic numberz (probably because of the nut milk advertised at coffeteria.

Anyways, welcome FNG, so mission and core principles. Off we mosey to the Shake Shack lot with an extra loop for good measure. Warm-ups near an unexpectedly sketchy 4-Runner. At this point a new F3 Game was created, look for it at an AO near you soon, Yogi and Bubba-isms Bingo. Looped around the lot again, down past whole foods (and the sketchy 4-Runner for a second time) and onto the green to find…..

THE WHEEL OF PAIN (core-centric edition)
Spin the wheel, 20 of called exercise OYO followed by a big pickle around Shake Shack. Halfway through we needed to balance some things out so merks and squats to restore said balance. Continue on until all exercises had been called. More squats and merks then back up to the big lot. At this point Kirkland was bemoaning the lack of AKOA exercises, so Astro Jacks, Stiflers Mom, American Sledgehammers, and Cat Scratch Fever were all called. Back to pick up the wheel (which Gravel Mouth bore upon his back) and then to the flag.

With some “encouragement” from Shipyard, today we explored some recent phenomena…

I’m not saying it was aliens ….but it was the aliens!

Started with a mosey to warmups. Blew the PAX minds when they discovered the first man on the moon Neil A. Armstrong’s name speeled backwards is A.lieN.

Discussed the apocalyptic scene in New Jersey that has many in panic thinking UFOs were invading. Turns out it was the Goodyear blimp over MetLife stadium. The PAX then participated in inflating BLIMPs.

Thang 2 was to represent the Georgia state patrol chasing an UFO across the sky turns out it was just the planet Venus. Thus we did setof 5’s – merkins and CDDs with bearcrawl to and from.

Finished with MARY, where we learned Australia does it differently and Term Paper introduced us to Homer to Martian.

Ended with COT. Prayers to the health of our families, specifically our elders, and Maywe continue to be leaders in our community.

Problematic numbers this morning but great to see some neighbors visit from the Peak tribe. Disclaimer then pledge then off we go. No elaborate plans but our friend from the far far west in LaLa Land debuted a new exercise yesterday, so we had to try it out. Warmups with stretching then mosey to the long hill that Bing shared during BRR training.

7’s was the call with the Lt. Dan Tuck Jump Burpee at the top and WW2’s at the bottom. Nope that’s not the bottom of the hill keep going. Finished with 6 regular burpees as a group.

Mosey back to the warmup spot for some post hill stretching. Back to the flag for a few popcorn Mary and HAND with 2.5 minutes to spare. Our lone Ochoer returned safely with mysterious blood stains.

7s – bear crawl and hand release merkins
11 descending merkins variations

Thought of the day – What do you do out of convenience instead of what is best or right? F3 is a push to do the hard thing and have guys help you do it. What other areas do you need to step up in?

A cold and snowy morning –
Morale was already high when YHC arrived (fyi – when I offered to Q, didn’t look at weather and likely would’ve fartsacked premeditated)

HOWEVER…..15 PAX went the distance and took the fight into the Championship rounds

The Thang:

5 Rounds For Total Reps in 29 minutes:

– 1 minute Wall Ball Shots (20lb)
– 1 minute Sumo Deadlift High-Pulls. (75/55/45lb)
– 1 Burpees (substitute for 20in box jumps)
– 1 minute Push Press (75/55lb)
– 1 minute Seated Row (calories) or bent over row with kettelbells / sandbag
– 1 minute Rest
RINSE and REPEAT

All Pax got what they came for, and I personally witnessed men doing the hard thing when they didn’t feel like it.

We all played a part in staying motivated.

It seemed by the last round everyone had finally figured out how to do the workout

His parents were killed for unknown motive. Suspect was apprehended by T.D. (Who is a follower of Christ, and the only reason I believe suspect was shown mercy)

I don’t even know what to say to him, and usually I can text him for whatever.

Seven for 88 for a loosely themed crime spree workout at each of the four banks around Waverly. The Q hadn’t realized that banks had featured prominently in a workout last year, but we made the best of it with multiple trips through the drive throughs for a variety of exercises including bear crawls, world’s worst merkins, lunges, burpees, and the like. Stretching throughout.

Pax noted that if you’re doing your banking at Chase that you should not expect a teller to assist you. In fact, the drive through pavement looks as if no cars actually ever come to the bank at all prompting discussion of robots in local restaurants.

Extended coffeeteria. All in attendance got progressively colder save Yoga Mat who didn’t even notice cocooned in his “light red” (read: pink) Oodie. Pleasure to lead, thanks to everyone who came out.

3 Cleaverers (Clevearites? Cleaverians?) and 16 bootcampers launched from Point Break on a crisp and windy morning. After a mosey and warmup we found safety from the wind in a parking deck, at Term Paper’s welcome suggestion.
Thang 1: The world’s shortest, but not easiest, 11’s. Bear crawl about 20 feet, Merkin, Crab Walk back, LBC.
Interlude: Washington Commanders Run (or Kenyan Queue) modified so the front person dropped off, performed 5 Merkins, then catches up to the back and yells “Loud and Proud, the Six”. After some confusion about which line the yelling was for one group modified the call to wish YHC a Happy Birthday.
Thang 2: 11’s on a hill. CDDs at top, Squats at bottom, and PAX choice of Everests or backwards run up the hill.
Mosey back to the flag, couple minutes o’ Mary, and Have a Nice Day!

Groups of 3 was the name of the game today.
Bubba for an EC (), joined up by two groups of 3 for the ME.
Mosey, warmups including SCS Jigglystyle and then to the green for Thang 1: Rock, Paper, Scissors. From our home base we ran up the north stairs for rock jump squats (ball up at the bottom like a rock) back to home for dips, then up the south stairs for Superman merkins (get flat like paper), back for for dips then across parking lot for X-ups (scissors def have an X situation going on). Rounds of 5, 10, then 15 reps.

Midway through the Krypto crowd showed up, and everyone just instinctively knew that each team must nominate a leader for an RPS battle. Bubba made us proud, per Grisham “prouder of him than his own mama.” What you didn’t learn from the Krypto backblast is that our 88 crowd pleased them with monkey humpers while they executed their penalty burpees.

We had time to squeeze in a quick round of The Ultimate Driving Machine and then back to the flag for Mary including Dowry’s Rick Rudes.
