YHC rolled in right on time at 5:29 to find a lot of empty cars, but no PAX. Initial thought was, “is this a 5:45 AO?” Nope, the PAX found a dry patch in Waverly.

This week marks three years posting with F3 for me and I am grateful to have you all in my life.

The crowd was excellent today. The Grease Monkey was there and is as fast as you remember him being.

We took off for a warmup mosey longer than Burt would’ve liked. Did a Dora w/merkins, squats and LBCs…a pain train with burpees, Chill Cut Leap and a couple AYG sprints in the parking lot to close it out before Mary.

Prayers up for a couple passings and health challenges folks in our community are struggling with.

I appreciate the ability to lead today.

A few EC’ers and kettlebellers upon arrival. YHC tried to take it old school this morning with some youthful nostalgia.

First, we headed to the baseball field and rounded the bases at an inside-the-park pace + 15 merkins at home. Repeato 5 times. Denali’s shoes did not approve.

Then over to the basketball courts for a Callahan-inspired game of Knockout. Burt loved it so much last week, he made the trip over to SCary for some more. 10 burpees after each knockout and back in line with 5 lives. Koolaid and YHC both went for the block on the final shots, but after contending with some aggressive D, the Q was victorious. (Notes also say @Chops has a sneaky good jumper.)

Finish up with a quick Dora of dirkins, irkins, and dips for BaB’s triceps.

COT under the pavilion and YHC takes us out. Make it a great day for somebody else today.

13 converged for a post Bday celebration!
Thang 1: The PAX cut across Penny Rd to check in on Uncle David and did a squat jump ladder over and back the big hill.
Thang 2: PAX found the rock pile and played catch me if you can while the man with the rock help it overhead. 2nd lap were rock curls.
Plenty of Merkins and LBCs kept the PAX together.

Lifted up prayers for Eric 60 days sober! New babies on the way, fathering children through difficult times, mom’s selling homes.

Advice of the day when selling a home: sell to the highest bidder and no inspections!

South Cary redeemed itself with a strong showing at the DMZ. Joe Smith taught us about forking. Burt arranged the execution of some geese. Great fun was had by all.

We welcomed 2 “friendly new guys” who were not FNG’s—Burt and Wonderbread. We started with a jogging tour around the facilities and then a quick warmup.

Thang 1 was a pickle around the Blair Witch houses which included 100 each of squats, merkins, and Carolina dry docks.

For thang 2 we paid a visit to the sheep where partners ran the loop and got up close and personal with the sheep with 150 irkins and dirkins.

Thang 3 was another pickle with 3 stations of pyramid-style reps (increasing then decreasing):
3 sets of 10 WWII’s
3 sets of 15 alternating side LBC’s
3 sets of 20 monkey humpers
3 sets of 15 reverse LBC’s
3 sets of 10 burpees

If you are wondering what it was like having Burt around, it was everything you’d expect it to be and more.

Got back to COT right at 0615 after which time the QIC and site Q’s were presented with cans of Natural Fright from Burt in honor of his visit to SCary. Those beers may or may not be leftover from Halloween 2021 or even 2020 but they will still be delicious. Much discussion was made about how Texas Ranger’s coffee at Jack It Up may be the very best among all our neighboring regions. Come on out next Monday and experience it for yourself.
