What’s Up Scary!

A very pleasant morning it was over in the land of up lighted $2M+ houses, pineapples and doggy treat vending machines (WTF).

21 gathered for the ME and I was thrilled with the group of men who decided to join me at JIU this am. A solid group of guys I wish I saw more often (gotta get over to Scary more often).

Started with a 1 mike pre run with Amway, Astro, Chipper, Kitty Litter and Home Grown. EHarmony was out on a ruck.

Standard Warm Up.

Mosey to the Big House Neighborhood for Mr T. We found some hills along with our inside voice (even Yogi and me) and worked the T along with a POS.

We all (we almost all) did 5 burpees every time the words What’s Up were said. I think we did about 40 extras.

Back to the park for a flawless Motivator.

Wrapped up with a set of 140s. Joe Smiff was confused. I really miss both Joe’s and JP’s voices. Smooth.

Praises for a young Hank (middle schooler friend of Fleder family) who just wrapped up Chemo for his cancer. There was a big celly. God is good.

Prayers for Yogi who is working through some family and personal challenges. Keep your head up, Yogi!

Beautiful morning. Cool enough to be comfortable but warm enough to break a good sweat.

Whether accurate or not it was my belief that 88 workouts rarely left Waverly complex so the plan was to go off site and get a little mileage.

Mosey to Medical office/retirement community with warm up stop on the way.

Thang 1 – starting at level 1 of first deck, go up a flight of stairs and then run the deck down. 2 flights then run down, 3 flights etc. Squats on level 1 each time and merkins each time you emerge from stairs. Starting at 10 each and adding 1 each time. Not as complicated as it may sound and all of the runs were downhill.

Thang 2 – move to the other parking deck. Inflating BOMBS as we worked our way from level 1 to the top.

Mosey back to the flag where the constant questioning by French Lick about lack of SCary stretch was finally rectified just before we arrived. Managed to 1.5 rounds of pigeon for Fruit Loop.

Picnic, Pull ups in May to prep for the Murph.

Prayers – OR procedure Thursday, Kitty Litter- passing of his grandmother and the effect on his Mom, passing of the Pope.

9 PAX suited up and showed to fight the good fight.

Q juice is powerful stuff – but sometimes it just doesn’t hit. Passion and genuine gratitude usually put wind in my sails, but not today.

Passion I believe is the most advanced form of movitation, and the lowest form is white-knuckled willingness. That was enough to get me there, and God did the rest, to Him be the glory

I know God works through people, certainly the men that showed up this morning to do the hard thing.
